The annual ICC India Arbitration Day is taking place in-person on Saturday, 2 December 2023 at Taj Palace, Delhi. This year not only marks the 6th edition of the annual ICC India Arbitration Day, but also the Centenary of the ICC International Court of Arbitration (ICC Court). In its 100th year, the ICC Court looks forward to furthering its partnership with both legal and business communities in India, not just for dispute resolution but also for dispute prevention. The conference will have the ICC leadership including the President of the ICC Court, Claudia Salomon, Secretary General of the ICC Court, Alexander Fessas and Tejus Chauhan, Director of ICC Arbitration and ADR, South Asia.

Notable and esteemed speakers include Hon’ble Justice KV Viswanathan (Judge, Supreme Court of India), Hon’ble Justice Dato’ Mary Lim Thiam Suan (Judge, Federal Court of Malaysia), Mr VK Rajah SC (Arbitrator and Mediator, Duxton Hill Chambers; Former Attorney General; Former Judge of Court of Appeal of Singapore; Vice President of the ICC Court), Hon’ble Justice Navin Chawla (Judge, High Court of Delhi) and Mr R Venkataramani (Senior Advocate and Attorney-General for India).

The event will bring together more than 250 practitioners and experts of both legal and business communities based out of India and other parts of the world to discuss emerging issues and trends India’s arbitration landscape. The conference will feature exciting panels on:

The event will include the much-anticipated mock ICC Court Session on draft award scrutiny that you can observe to familiarise yourself with the behind the scene work of the ICC Court! ICC Institute of World Business Law Advanced Training — India 2023 on “Conduct of the Proceedings and Case Management: The Arbitrator’s Perspective”

The ICC Institute of World Business Law Advanced Training on arbitration is making its way to India for the first time in India on 1 December 2023 at the Taj Palace, Delhi. The full day training on “Conduct of the Proceedings and Case Management: The Arbitrator’s Perspective” precedes the annual ICC India Arbitration Day on 2 December 2022 and will include sessions on:

  • Active case management techniques

  • Effective management of arbitration: an ICC perspective

  • Arbitrators’ authority: scope and limits

  • Allowing additional claims and parties

  • Managing the exchange of information

  • Multiple case scenarios on active case management techniques and debate

Please note that this is an advanced level training open to a select group of 40 experienced arbitration practitioners and arbitrators, who wish to develop the requisite skills and knowledge to prepare themselves for future appointments. As such the participants are required to possess the requisite knowledge and practical experience in arbitration to help them engage with complex issues covered at the Training.
