[Delhi Excise Liquor Policy] Delhi HC reserves order on Arvind Kejwiral’s bail; Stays operation of Trial Court’s order granting bail

The order has been reserved for a detailed order in the matter, which will be pronounced in two to three days.

Delhi High Court: In a plea filed by Directorate of Enforcement (‘ED’) challenging the bail granted to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal by the Rouse Avenue Court on 20-06-2024, Sudhir Kumar Jain, J., reserved order, imposing an interim stay on the bail granted by the Trial Court. The counsel representing ED stated that the order was pronounced late night, and no clear opportunity was granted to oppose the bail.

On 20-06-2024, the Delhi Court granted bail to Kejriwal in the money laundering case connected to the alleged Delhi Excise liquor policy scam.

The Court, after perusal of contention by counsels, while imposing an interim stay on the Trial Court’s order said that the same shall not come into effect until a detailed order is passed.
