ABOUT THE ORGANIZER

IMS Unison University (IUU), a constituent of the Unison Education Foundation, was established in 1996 as the Institute of Management Studies. After significantly contributing to higher education, the Government of Uttarakhand granted its approval in 2013 to establish it as IMS Unison University. Boasting a legacy of over 25 years, we are proud of our pioneering history, our distinguished present, and our exciting future.

The School of Law (SoL) stands as one of Northern India’s rapidly growing law schools, committed to delivering exceptional legal education with an interdisciplinary approach. It emphasizes the convergence of law with social science, humanities, and management studies within its curriculum, ensuring a blend of theoretical depth and practical applicability.

ABOUT THE EVENT:

It is with immense pride that we present the 11th Edition of the National Moot Court Competition, taking place from September 19th to 21st, 2024. This eminent competition, hosted by the Moot Court Society, is dedicated to showcasing and celebrating the legal acumen of promising young talents and offering them a distinguished platform to hone their professional skills.

HISTORY:

In continuation of its legacy, IMS UNISON UNIVERSITY, DEHRADUN is honored to announce the 11th National Moot Court Competition,2024 since its inception, the Moot Court Competition at IMS Unison University has been a key event for legal education, offering students a platform to develop their advocacy skills and engage in rigorous debates. The competition has evolved significantly over the years, growing in scope and prestige. Each edition has showcased the talents of participants and included contributions from esteemed legal professionals.

ELIGIBILTY:

The competition is open for Students pursuing three/five years L.L.B Degree Course from recognized law college/ University in India, subject to fulfilment of the registration formalities. The participants are inclusive of L.L.M students as well.

OFFICIAL LANGUAGE:

The official working language of the Moot Court competition is English.

TEAM COMPOSITION:

A team shall comprise a maximum of three individuals, specifically two mooters and one researcher.

Offline: At the campus of School of Law, IMS UNISON UNIVERSITY, DEHRADUN

IMPORTANT DATES:

  • Registration Opening : 1st August, 2024

  • Last date of registration: 8th September, 2024

  • Last date of submission of soft copy of memorials: 15th September, 2024

  • Last date of submission of hard copy of memorials: 19th September, 2024

  • Inaugural, draw of lots, Exchange of memorials : 19th September, 2024

  • Researcher Test and Preliminary Rounds: 19th September, 2024

  • Quarter Finals and Semi-finals : 20th September,2024

  • Final Round and Valedictory Ceremony: 21st September, 2024

The competition presents an exciting opportunity with a total cash prize pool of up to ₹1,00,000. The awards include:

Winner: ₹21,000

Runner-Up: ₹12,000

Best Mooter: ₹4,000

Best Researcher: ₹3,000

Best Memorial (Respondent): ₹3,000

Best Memorial (Petitioner): ₹3,000

NOTE: In addition to the cash prizes, the winning team will receive a one-year complimentary subscription to SCC Online Web Edition.

The runner-up team will be granted a one-year complimentary subscription to EBC Learning. Furthermore, all participants will benefit from one month of access to the SCC Online Web Edition.
