Palkhivala Memorial National (Virtual) Moot Court & Research Paper Competition. It is scheduled to be held on from 17th to 20th October, 2024.

About MNLU Mumbai

Maharashtra National Law University (MNLU) Mumbai, established under Maharashtra Act VI of 2014, is one of the premier legal education institutions in India. (Hons.) program, one year LL.M. program (in various disciplines), two years M.B.A program and Ph.D. program, among others.

About the Competition

The 14th edition of the Padma Vibhushan N.A. Palkhivala Memorial National Moot Court and Research Paper Competition, 2024, revolves around taxation law and seeks to inculcate interest in tax law practice among the minds of students.

Eligibility

  1. Participation is strictly restricted to bona fide law students enrolled in the three-year or five-year LL.B. or degree course in any institution recognized by the Bar Council of India.

  2. Each College/ Institution shall be allowed to register only one team in the competition.

Location

The competition will be conducted in virtual (online) mode.

Registration

  • Moot Court Competition

The teams are required to duly complete the registration process by 20th September 2024 (11:59 P.M.) by filling out this Google form. Participants will not be permitted to make any changes in the team composition after completion of the registration except in case of any medical exigencies.

  • Research Paper Competition

Students must confirm their participation by submitting the research papers on or before 30th September, 2024 via this hyperlinked Google Form.

Fee Details

  • The Registration Fee for the teams will be Rs. 2,500/- for the oral rounds. The registration fee will be non-refundable and paid by all teams, irrespective of their participation in the Oral Rounds.

  • Kindly note that there are no registration fees for participating in the Research Paper Competition.

  • The payment shall be made via the payment link attached herewith.

  • Moot Court Competition:

    Winner — Trophy + Certificate of Merit + Cash Prize of Rs. 40,000 /-

    Runner-Up – Trophy + Certificate of Merit + Cash Prize of Rs. 30,000 /-

    Second Runner-Up — Trophy + Certificate of Merit + Cash Prize of Rs. 20,000/-

    Best Speaker — Trophy + Certificate of Merit + Cash Prize of Rs.10,000/-

    Best Researcher — Trophy + Certificate of Merit + Cash Prize of Rs.10,000/-

    Best Memorial (Petitioner) – Trophy + Certificate of Merit + Cash Prize of Rs.10,000/-

    Best Memorial (Respondent) – Trophy + Certificate of Merit + Cash Prize of Rs.10,000/-

  • Research Paper Competition – Students

    Winner – Certificate of Merit +Trophy + Cash Prize of Rs. 10,000/-

    Runner-Up – Certificate of Merit +Trophy + Cash Prize of Rs. 7,500/-

    Second Runner-Up — Certificate of Merit +Trophy + Cash Prize of Rs. 5,000/-

  • Release of Proposition & Registrations Open: 26th August, 2024

  • Registration Deadline (for Moot Court Competition): 20th September, 2024

  • Registration Deadline (for Research Paper Competition): 30th September, 2024.

  • Submission of Memorials: 2nd October, 2024
