The Centre for Training and Research in Commercial Regulations (CTRCR) at MNLU Mumbai is inviting registrations from law students (enrolled in either a 5-year integrated law program or a 3-year LLB program, or who have graduated within the last six months) for the ‘MNLU-M National Corporate Client Counselling Competition 2025’ to be held from 21st to 23rd February 2025 in Virtual Mode (Preliminary Rounds) and 12th to 13th April 2025 in Physical Mode (Advanced Rounds).
About the CTRCR, MNLU Mumbai
The Centre focuses on the dissemination of the knowledge related to Corporate and Commercial Law prevailing in domestic as well as international arenas and covers the trends related to it. Furthermore, it works to bring together the experts in these areas of law to stimulate research and discourse in Corporate and Commercial Laws, along with the Industry Practices, to strengthen cooperation among stakeholders like academic centres, international organizations, and the legal fraternity.
About the Competition:
The CTRCR is thrilled to announce the first edition of the ‘MNLU-M National Corporate Client Counselling Competition’ for students to engage with challenging, real-world corporate law issues. This unique platform will test participants’ skills in handling a complex corporate dispute scenario, requiring adept client management, legal interpretation, and strategic counselling.

Further Details

Institutional teams as well as Individual Open (Non-University) teams can register for the competition by 20th January 2025.

The expected team composition shall comprise 2 counsels. Selected students from MNLU Mumbai will role-play as clients in all rounds.

The registration fee for the Online Preliminary Rounds is Rs. 4000 per team. An additional fee of Rs. 5000 per team will be incurred from the teams qualified for the Offline Advanced Rounds.

The advanced round’s fee needs to be paid only by the 4 teams that qualify for the offline advanced rounds of the competition.

The registration fee for the offline rounds (advanced rounds) is inclusive of accommodation that shall be provided by the Organising Committee. Accommodation is not optional.

Providing team/participant details for the provisional registration form is not mandatory. The said details are to be submitted during the final registration.

An email confirming your slot will be sent by the Organising Committee, only after which the formalities for the Final Registration shall be completed.
Competition Structure:

Preliminary Rounds (Online):
-
Each team will participate in 2 rounds, each based on a different proposition. One set of rounds will be conducted per day.

The top 4 teams out of 32 will be selected on the basis of their cumulative score across the 2 rounds.

Advanced Rounds (Offline):

The top 4 teams will first take part in the semi-final round.

The top 2 teams based on scores will advance to the final rounds and will be judged by a 6-person bench, with the team scoring higher winning the competition.
