About RMLPD

The RML Parliamentary Debate is the annual flagship Debating Tournament conducted by the Debate and Discussion Committee of the University. Twelve editions of the event have been organised so far, bringing home some of the best debaters and adjudicators from all over the country under one roof.

The debate is organised in the “Asian-style Parliamentary Debate” format wherein two teams of 3 debaters speak and argue on a motion set for the particular round. The tournament operates on a League + Knockout format. At the same time, the debates in each round are judged by the “adjudicators, ” who compete for the opportunity to judge the finals. Thus, it can be said that this tournament culminates into two simultaneously run sub tournaments involving both debaters and adjudicators.
