MNLU Mumbai in association with the Centre for Information Communication Technology and Law, the Centre for Advanced Legal Training and Research, and Daga Legal is organizing a Symposium on ‘AI: Privacy, Security & IPR’. This event will consist of expert talks from Supreme Court Judge, Advocate-General, Counsels, and Partners from top tier law firms, along with paper presentation sessions. It is scheduled to happen on 5th April 2025 at MNLU Mumbai’s campus in Powai, Mumbai.

Background:

In today’s fast-evolving world, Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become a cornerstone of innovation, influencing numerous fields, including education. Artificial Intelligence (AI) is at the forefront of technological advancement, revolutionizing industries and redefining traditional legal frameworks. However, this rapid evolution presents critical challenges in areas such as privacy, security, and intellectual property rights (IPR). As AI continues to integrate into every aspect of our lives, there is a pressing need to examine its implications from a legal, ethical, and policy perspective.

About the Symposium:

The symposium on AI: Privacy, Security, and Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) aims to bring together experts, academicians, policymakers, and industry leaders to explore the complex interplay between AI innovation and its regulatory challenges. The event will delve into pressing issues such as safeguarding data privacy, addressing cybersecurity threats posed by AI systems, and rethinking IPR frameworks to accommodate AI generated works and technologies. We will host expert talks and paper presentation sessions to encourage research and academic contributions. Authors of the best papers will have the opportunity to feature their work in an edited book, ensuring that their insights and analyses reach a wider audience.

About the Organizers:

MNLU Mumbai Maharashtra National Law University Mumbai, established by Government of Maharashtra under Act VI of 2014, is one of the premier National Law Universities in India. Hon’ble Mr. Justice Bhushan Gavai, Judge of the Supreme Court of India, is the Chancellor of the University. CALSTAR – The Centre for Advanced Legal Studies, Training, and Research (CALSTAR) at MNLU Mumbai, is established with a visionary objective to create a comprehensive and unified platform for all academic, research, and training activities related to the dynamic and evolving field of law. The Centre envisions becoming a leading centre of excellence in legal education and research, contributing to the development of contemporary and futuristic legal frameworks that address emerging challenges in the legal landscape. It strives to bridge the gap between theoretical legal studies and practical application, ensuring that legal professionals are well equipped to meet the demands of a rapidly changing world.
