About the Moot Court Society (MCS)

The Moot Court Society (MCS) at NLU Meg serves as a cornerstone of practical legal education. It enhances advocacy, research, and drafting skills through simulated court proceedings, competitions, and training sessions. After successfully organizing the 1st NLU Meg NHRC National Moot Court Competition, MCS returns with an even more exciting challenge this year!

About the Event

The 2nd NLU Meg National Moot Court Competition 2025 is a stage for budding legal minds to showcase their advocacy, research, and oratory skills. Participants will engage in a challenging hypothetical case involving contemporary legal issues, crafting well-reasoned arguments before esteemed judges.

Theme

Constitutional Law, FDI, E-Commerce, Fast Commerce, and Consumer Protection and it will centre around a complex and contemporary legal problem, encouraging participants to engage with diverse aspects of law.

Eligibility

  • Open to students pursuing a 5-year LL.B. or 3-year LL.B. program in India.
  • Each institution may send only one team consisting of two speakers and one researcher.

Mode/Venue

The competition will be held offline at the NLU Meghalaya campus.

Prize Money Highlights

  • Winner: ₹1,00,000
  • Runner-Up: ₹50,000
  • Best Orator (Male & Female): ₹15,000 each
  • Best Memorial (Applicant & Respondent): ₹15,000 each
  • Best Researcher: ₹15,000
