The National Law School of India University (NLSIU), one of India’s top ranked law university, in association with Trilegal, a top-tier law firm, will be hosting the National Law School Trilegal International Arbitration Moot (NLSTIAM) from the 20th to the 22nd of May. The event will be held at the NLSIU campus on 20th and 21st of May, and the Taj West End on the 22nd of May. The semi-final rounds at the Taj will be followed by a problem discussion session. The event will culminate with a socials dinner after the Grand Finals.

The NLS-Trilegal International Arbitration Moot is India’s only arbitration moot. The teams will be judged by leading experts in the field, giving them a cutting-edge real world experience. The finals panel comprises Nish Shetty, the head of international arbitration at Clifford Chance, Steven Lim, the Managing Partner at Nabarro LLP and Mr. Sitesh Mukherjee, the head of Trilegal’s dispute resolution practice.

The problem for this year is based on spectrum allocation and raises issues relating to Corporate Law and International Commercial Arbitration. Teams will be assessed not only on the depth and quality of their research and arguments but also their ability to adapt their advocacy to the specific style of arbitration. While always known for its quality, the recent association with Trilegal has raised the bar of the Moot even higher.
