1st ILNU International Mediation Competition

The Alternate Dispute Resolution Committee, ILNU is hosting the 1st International Mediation Competition from 5th March, 2021 to 7th March, 2021. The ADR Committee of ILNU has been trying to push the limits to educate the upcoming generation of legal professionals to comprehend the value of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Mechanism in this fast-paced era. This competition is an integral part of the same effort and is designed to Foster the Practice of Mediation for effective dispute resolution by way of its application to a problem that bears relevance to the global scenario and to train students in the methods of alternative dispute resolution.

Brief Timeline of the Event –

• Registrations open- 13^thJanuary, 2021
• Registrations close- 31^stJanuary, 2021
• Announcement of shortlisted teams- 1^stFebruary, 2021
• Final registrations by teams- 15^thFebruary, 2021
• Release of problems- 17^thFebruary, 2021
• Last date to submit clarifications- 22^ndFebruary, 2021
• Release of clarifications- 25^thFebruary, 2021
• Training session and Preliminary Round 1- 5^thMarch, 2021
• Preliminary round 2 and Semi-Finals- 6^thMarch, 2021
• Finals- 7^th March, 2021

Eligibility for the competition– Students must be enrolled in five-year integrated undergraduate law programme or any other form of Bachelor’s degree in law (LLB, BCL, JD, or equivalent). Students with practical experience of mediation outside their university are not eligible to participate as a mediator or a negotiator.

Registration fees– Rs. 4500 for Indian Teams and USD 65 for Foreign Teams
