National Law Institute University wins West and South Asian Rounds for 20th John H. Jackson Moot Court Competition 2022


National Law Institute University wins West and South Asian Rounds for 20th John H. Jackson Moot Court Competition 2022.

Team Composition- Aryaman Vachher, Karthik Sarma, Samavi Srivastava and Prachi Chowdhary.

Law Based on – International Trade Law and the WTO dispute settlement procedures.

Organised by – European Law Students Association.

Additionally this is the first time NLIU has ever won the regional rounds of this moot.

 


SLS Pune wins the IIT Kanpur Parliamentary Debate, 2022


The team representing Symbiosis Law School, Pune, comprising of Aashna Mansata and Vaishnavi as speakers have emerged as the Champions of the IIT Kanpur Parliamentary Debate, 2022.

The tournament was organised by IIT Kanpur, from the 25th to 27th of March, 2022. It comprised of 36 teams including international participation. Vaishnavi and Aashna were awarded the titles of Best Speaker and Second Best Speaker respectively, in addition to the championship title.

 


SLS Pune secures the first prize in NLUJ CIPS Inter College IP Research Essay Writing Competition, 2022


Ms. Enaakshi Majumdar, has emerged as the Winner of the NLUJ CIPS Inter College IP Research Essay Writing Competition, 2022. The competition was conducted under the aegis of National Law University, Jodhpur, and the Centre for Intellectual Property Studies, on the theme “IP and Youth: Innovating for a Better Future”. The winners were felicitated in the award ceremony on 10th March 2022. The winning essay titled “Foresight on CRISPR and the Need for Patent Revolution in Indian Jurisprudence” was published in the NLUJ-CIPS Blog on April 27, 2022.

 


 Ms. Shiwani Agrawal,  Symbiosis Law School, Noida  receives ‘Felix Scholarship’


Ms. Shiwani Agrawal,  (Batch 2017-22), Symbiosis Law School, NOIDA has been awarded with the ‘Felix Scholarship’ (which includes Full Tuition Fee, Living Expenses and Return Airfare) to study LL.M. in ‘Human Rights, Conflict and Justice’ from School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), the University of London.

Felix scholarships are offered at three universities – the University of Oxford, the University of Reading and the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), part of the University of London.  The Scholarships are awarded on the basis of outstanding academic merit and financial need.

 


SLS Pune wins Manav Rachna Law & Technology National Moot Court Competition, 2022


The Team representing Symbiosis Law School, Pune, comprising Tanmay Kumar (1st year, BBA LLB Hons.) and Arnika Dwivedi (1st year, BBA LLB Hons.) as Speakers, and Anuprita Mohanty (1st year, LL.B) as Researcher, have emerged as the Winners of the Manav Rachna Law & Technology National Moot Court Competition, 2022. Additionally, Tanmay Kumar has been conferred with the award of Best Speaker (Finals Round) by the Judges of the Final Round.

The Competition was organized by the School of Law, Manav Rachna University, from April 28 to April 29, 2022. The subject matter of the Moot was similar to the controversies surrounding the ongoing WhatsApp and Facebook privacy policies. The issues of the Moot focused on data protection, the Right to Privacy, IT Acts, abuse of dominant position, etc.

The Final Round of the competition was judged by:-

  1. Hon’ble Justice VB Gupta, Retd. Judge of the Delhi High Court
  2. Hon’ble Justice Rajesh Tandon, Retd. Judge of the Uttarakhand High Court
  3. Prof. Raushan Tara Jaswal, Professor at JGLS, Alumna of Cambridge University
