On 8-3-2023, the Securities and Exchange Board of India (‘SEBI’) has mandated all existing investors to ensure that their Permanent Account Number (‘PAN’) is linked with Aadhaar Number prior to 31-3-2023. The purpose of linking is continuous and smooth transactions in the securities market and to avoid consequences of non-compliance with CBDT circular.
