On 3-8-2023, the Directorate General of Foreign Trade restricted the import of Laptops, Tablets, All in one Personal Computers and Ultra small form factor Computers and Servers with effect from 1-11-2023.
Key Points:

The Import of the above listed items will only be allowed against a valid Licence for Restricted Imports, purchased either from e-commerce portals, post or courier on payment of duty as applicable.

The Restriction will not be applicable to Imports under Baggage Rules.

These imported items cannot be further sold.

Exemption: Re-import of goods which are repaired abroad do not need the licence.

The import consignments can be cleared till 31-10-2023 without a Licence for Restricted Imports.
