In a Resolution dated 09-10-2023, the Supreme Court Collegium comprising of Dr Justice D.Y. Chandrachud, the Chief Justice of India, Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul, Justice Sanjiv Khanna, Justice B.R. Gavai and Justice Surya Kant proposed to transfer Justice Avneesh Jhingan, Judge, High Court of Punjab and Haryana to the Rajasthan High Court.
The Collegium had earlier (03-08-2023) proposed to transfer Justice Jhingan to Gujarat High Court, however, the proposal was pending before the Government since 11-08-2023.
The latest recommendation was made on reconsideration and in supersession of the proposal made on 03-08-2023.
