Justice Hamarsan Singh Thangkhiew appointed as Acting Chief Justice of Meghalaya High Court

Consequent to the retirement of current Chief Justice of Meghalaya High Court, Justice Sanjib Banerjee on 01-11-2023, Justice Thangkhiew will take over the responsibilities of Acting Chief Justice.

In a notification issued by the Ministry of Law and Justice, it was notified that subsequent to the retirement of current Chief Justice of Meghalaya High Court, Justice Sanjib Banerjee, who retires on 01-11-2023, the President of India in exercise of the power conferred by Article 223 of the Constitution, has appointed Justice Hamarsan Singh Thangkhiew, Judge of the Meghalaya High Court, to take over as the Acting Chief Justice with effect from 02.11.2023.

The Ministry notification was issued on 01-11-2023 as well.
