Institute of Law, Nirma University is thrilled to invite you to the International Conference on Climate Change Litigation 2024 which aims to foster collaborative opportunities and knowledge exchange among esteemed researchers in the field of environment law. The conference is envisioned as a platform for scholars, researchers, and practitioners to engage in insightful discussions, share best practices, and explore emerging trends in environment law.

The International Conference on Climate Change Litigation 2024 is being hosted on 1st & 2nd June, 2024 at the campus of the Institute of Law, Nirma University in collaboration with the British Institute of International Comparative Law, UK.

The event will have esteemed speakers like Hon’ble Justice Swatanter Kumar, Former Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court; Justice Brian Preston, Chief Judge of the Land and Environment Court in New South Wales; Professor Ivano Alogna, British Institute of International Comparative Law; Professor Gita Gill, Northumbria University, UK; Professor Alexander Zahar and many more.

The broad themes of the conference are:

o Climate Change & its Impact on Society

o Green Finance and Environmental Clearance

o Climate Litigation & Emerging Issues

o Environmental Jurisprudence

o Issues related to Climate change- Role of Judiciary, NGOs, lawyers, etc.

Eligibility:

Papers that are relevant to the theme and sub-themes of the conference are invited from Academicians, Legal Practitioners, Research Scholars, Professionals, Policymakers and Students.

Location:

The conference shall take place in hybrid mode. The offline sessions shall take place at the Institute of Law, Nirma University, Ahmedabad.

Submission Guidelines:-

– Only original, unpublished work on the conference is requested. Submissions that include essentially the same work that has previously been published or is under review for publication at another conference or journal will not be accepted.

– An Abstract of not more than 300 words accompanied by 5-6 keywords

– Submission of abstract and research paper should include a separate title page.

– The Final paper should be between 4,000 to 6,000 words inclusive of Footnotes.

– All Submissions should strictly follow the given Formatting Style: Heading — Times New Roman 14 point, Text Font — Times New Roman 12 point, Margin — 1 inch all sides Line spacing — 1.5 lines, single column

– Co-authorship is restricted to two members only.

– All submitted work should mandatorily have a similarity index below 10%.

– The Citation style shall be OSCOLA 4th edition

– The decision of the screening committee regarding the selection of the paper for the Conference shall be final.

– Upon selection of the abstract, the participants shall register by paying the prescribed registration fee. The mode and procedure of payment of the registration fees shall be notified in due course to the selected participants.

– Registration fee includes access to all sessions, conference materials, etc.
