Supreme Court: Addressing the Delhi’s water crisis, the Division Bench of Prashant Kumar Mishra and KV Viswanathan, JJ while hearing a writ petition filed by the Delhi Government seeking directions to the State of Haryana for the immediate release of water, directed for an urgent meeting of stakeholders to address the Delhi Government’s demand of urgent release of water from Himachal Pradesh through Haryana.

The meeting will be held on 05-06-2024 and the Court has directed the status report to be submitted by 06-06-2024.

Delhi Government had filed a petition stating that there is extraordinary and excessive surge of water demand in the capital and while battling with heat wave, there is acute shortage, despite of all the possible administrative measures.
