About LexTech
LexTech – Centre for Law, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation at National Law University Odisha (NLUO) is a pioneering initiative dedicated to exploring and advancing the intersection of law and technology. Focused on emerging areas such as FinTech, AI, TMT, Online Gaming and Betting Laws, and Data Privacy, LexTech is committed to fostering interdisciplinary research, collaboration, and responsible technology adoption. Through monthly newsletters, engaging talk shows like “Tech Tales: From Code to Courtroom,” and now the Article Writing Competition, LexTech aims to enhance access to justice and improve legal processes by addressing emerging technological challenges.

About the Competition
This competition aims to foster discourse and exploration of innovative applications within the intersection of law and technology. Participants are encouraged to delve into diverse aspects of legal technology, such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, cybersecurity, and data analytics, and their implications for the legal landscape.
Competition Theme and Sub-Themes
The central theme for the competition is Emerging Areas in Legal-Tech and Innovation.
Participants are encouraged to explore a variety of sub-themes, including but not limited to:
1. Navigating the Digital Frontier: Legal challenges and solutions in cross-border data transfers in light of DPDPA.
2. Decoding Deceptive Design: Evaluating the impact of India’s Dark Patterns Guidelines.
3. Legal Implications of Deepfakes and AI-generated Content.
4. RBI’s Vision for Digital Lending: A critical examination of guidelines and challenges in the Indian context.
5. Skill vs Chance: An analysis of the introduction of 28% GST on online gaming in India.
6. Creator or Creation: The legal conundrum of ownership and authorship in AI-generated content.
Eligibility:
Open to all undergraduate and postgraduate students enrolled in any discipline at a recognized law university, college, or institute.
Co-authorship (maximum 2 authors) and cross-institutional teams are allowed.

Single authorship: Rs. 250
Co-authorship: Rs. 400

Submission Guidelines
Word Limit: 2000 – 2500 words.
Format: Lato font, size 11, 1.5 spaced, left-aligned. All sources must be hyperlinked (no footnotes allowed).
Originality: Submissions must be original and unpublished.
Anonymity: Manuscripts should not contain the author’s name or any institutional affiliations.
