The graduating batch of Maharashtra National Law University (MNLU), Mumbai has had another successful year of placements, with 34 students getting placed in law firms and corporates, 1 student securing Judicial Clerkship at Delhi High Court and 7 students securing LL.M. admission in prestigious universities.
MNLU Mumbai, established under the Maharashtra National Law University Act 2014, is one of India’s premier National Law Universities. Within the span of 10 years, the University has been able to consistently grow and have a positive impact, not only in the legal fraternity but also in the civil society and commercial spaces. An institution for higher learning must promote scholarship that engages with practical questions as well as the moral and philosophical dilemmas that arise in contemporary life. MNLU Mumbai consistently succeeds in doing so.
Tier 1 law firm Trilegal was the biggest recruiter, with 3 students getting Pre-placement Offers there. Trilegal was followed by other Tier 1 law firms – with Khaitan & Co, AZB & Partners, Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas, Touchstone Partners, Talwar Thakore & Associates and DSK Legal, each hiring 2 students. Top consulting firm Ernst & Young also recruited 3 students.
Other notable firms who recruited students include – Panag & Babu, Levi and Korsinsky LLP, Majmudar & Partners, Finsec Law Advisors, Luthra & Luthra, J. Sagar Associates, Regstreet Law Advisors, LexConsult, Lakshmikumaran and Sridharan, Wadia Ghandy & Co., SNG & Partners, Ikigai Law and TLC Legal. Hexaware Technologies also recruited 1 student.
Apart from the above-mentioned placements, 1 student received judicial clerkship at the Delhi High Court, while 7 students obtained LL.M. admission at prestigious Universities across the globe. They have received offers from distinguished institutions such as University of California Berkeley – School of Law, Cornell Law School, Duke University – School of Law, NYU School of Law, Trinity College Ireland, Kings College London, University of Edinburgh and West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences, National Law School of India University, among other notable institutions.
The upcoming graduating B.A.LL.B. Batch of 2025 has already left a mark in the legal industry, winning several competitions, publishing quality research papers, and meaningfully contributing to firms, corporations and lawyers during their internships, with students already securing Pre-Placement Offers in firms such as Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, Khaitan & Co and S&R Associates. Placement drives for the 2025 Batch are presently ongoing in MNLU Mumbai, with several firms, including international firms, conducting campus interviews.
