The Supreme Court Collegium comprising of Dr Justice DY Chandrachud, CJI, Justice Sanjiv Khanna, Justice BR Gavai, Justice Surya Kant and Justice Hrishikesh Roy on 30-8-2024, reiterate its recommendation dated 21-8-2024 to transfer Justice Shamim Ahmed to the Madras High Court.
On 21-8-2024, the Collegium proposed the transfer of Justice Shamim Ahmed, Judge, High Court of Judicature at Allahabad, to Madras High Court, for better administration of justice. However, via representation dated 22-8-2024, Justice Ahmed had requested reconsideration of the proposal for his transfer to the Madras High Court.
Upon consideration of the representation, the Collegium did not find any merit in the request, thereby reiterating their recommendation dt. 21-08-2024.
