ABOUT GUJARAT NATIONAL LAW UNIVERSITY

Gujarat National Law University, Gandhinagar is a premier institution of legal education in India. With its exemplary faculty, staff and committed students, the University endeavours to impart quality legal education. GNLU is the largest National Law University in India with regard to student, faculty and academic discourse strength and the only Indian National Law University to offer integrated law degrees in five streams including LL.M., PhD and Diploma programmes in a wide multitude of legal and interdisciplinary fields.

ABOUT THE COMPETITION

The GNLU Debate is our annual Debate Tournament and is one of the most prestigious tournaments conducted in this region. After hosting several highly successful editions over the years, the 9th Edition is being conducted between 6th and 8th September, and is scheduled to be bigger and grander than ever. Our previous editions have seen sizeable participation from some of the most prestigious universities across the country, including NLUs, IITs, IIMs, Nirma University, PDEU, etc. Our last edition saw over 100 participants. The Judges for this event include national and internation debaters who are some of the biggest names in the global debating circuit. The GNLU Debate is known for its contemporary and nuanced debating topics. The topics for the debate can span a range of issues such as economics, international relations, sports, law, etc. This gives our participants a unique platform to discuss different viewpoints. This year, we will also have workshops for our participants, and host a highly anticipated break night. Further, the participants who do well at this tournament will receive an exciting cash prize for their efforts, with the total prize pool amounting to over Rs. 1,60,000!
