Delhi High Court: In an application filed by journalist Abhishek Baxi challenging the interim order passed by the Court on 02-09-2024, in which he and other social media platforms were directed to delete tweets against Rohan Dua regarding his interview with professional shooter Manu Bhaker, Navin Chawla, J. vacated the interim order.

The impugned tweet by Abhishek Baxi was regarding the comment made towards Manu Bhaker by Rohan Dua which said ‘You are one of the most attractive females-beautiful females-in India’s history of Olympics.’

Rohan Dua contended that the impugned tweet was not only defamatory but also had a negative impact on him and Manu Bhaker.

After the present order was passed, Abhishek Baxi took to X (Twitter) to say “My tweet was protected exercise of free speech. Instead of being bullied, I chose to seek vacation of the injunction as the suit had misleading averments.”
