ABOUT TNNLU

Tamil Nadu National Law University (TNNLU) was established by the Government of Tamil Nadu by an Act of State Legislature (Act No. 9 of 2012) to provide quality legal education at the global level.

ABOUT MOOT COURT COMMITTEE

The Moot Court Committee (MCC) is an integral part of our institution’s commitment in providing a well-rounded legal education. The MCC has a team of 22 dedicated members from various batches, who carry out various functions such as organizing workshops, conducting moot court competitions, providing guidance & training, facilitating network and exposure, and taking important policy decisions to promote the mooting standards of the University. The MCC presently aims to bring TNNLU to the forefront of mooting and has successfully hosted the NHRC-TNNLU National Moot Court Competition and hosts the TNNLU-CCI National Moot Court Competition.

ABOUT 1st TNNLU-National Insolvency Moot Court Competition, 2025

The Tamil Nadu National Law University is organising the 1st TNNLU-National Insolvency Moot Court Competition, 2025 scheduled to take place in a hybrid format on 22nd-23rd of February, 2025 and 15th of March, 2025.

Venue: Hybrid (Preliminary and Quarters — Online and Semis, Finals — Physical at TNNLU Campus.)

THEME

Insolvency resolution process of MSME, preferential transactions and the issues arising thereunder.

Eligibility

Law students duly enrolled in the 3-year LL.B. courses or 5-year integrated LL.B. courses undergraduate programmes may apply to participate in the Competition. Two teams per Institution/University can participate in the Competition.

REGISTRATION FEES

The teams shall be required to pay a fee of INR 5,000/- (inclusive of Accommodation) towards registration prior to filling of the form and attach proof of payment while filling the aforementioned Final Registration form. This fee shall be non-refundable in case of withdrawal by a team.

Important Dates

The important dates of the 1st TNNLU-National Insolvency Moot Court Competition, 2025 are as detailed below:

  • Release of Brochure & Rule Book Commencement of Provisional Registration: 2nd January, 2025

  • Release of the Moot Proposition: 6th January, 2025

  • Deadline for Provisional Registration: 16th January, 2025

  • Deadline for Final Registration: 26th January, 2025

  • Last Day for seeking Clarifications: 28th January, 2025

  • Release of Clarifications for the Moot Proposition: 31st January, 2025

  • Submission of Memorials (Soft Copy): 16th February, 2025

Registration Procedure

All Institutions interested in participation may provisionally register themselves by sending an email to nimcc@tnnlu.ac.in and thereby reserve a slot for the institution on or before 11:59PM (IST) of 16th January 2025. Two (2) teams can register from each university.

If an institution fails to provisionally register within the cap on the number of teams, it shall be placed on a waitlist. If any of the teams that had completed provisional registration within the cap fails to finally register within the stipulated time, the institutions placed on waitlist shall be permitted to proceed with final registration formalities.

There shall be a cap on the number of teams. The number of teams shall be restricted to Thirty-Two (32), based on a first-come first-serve basis of provisional registration done by institutions. Only the teams that have completed provisional registration within the cap (i.e., the first thirty-two teams) shall be permitted to proceed to final registration formalities.
