About the Institution:

B.M.S. College of Law was established in the year 1963 by Sri. B.S. Narayan, Donor Trustee, BMSET, under the aegis of B.M. Sreenivasaiah Educational Trust. The Trust is named after Dharmaprakasha Rajakaryaprasaktha Sri. B.M. Sreenivasaiah, whose vision laid the foundation for the first private Engineering College in the State of Karnataka. The institution is affiliated with Karnataka State Law University, Hubballi and is approved by the Bar Council of India, New Delhi. The college offers B.A.LL.B., B.Com. LL.B., B.B.A.LL.B (5-Year Degree) and L.L.B., (3-Year Degree) Courses. The Institution is accredited with a B++ Ranking by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).

With an aim of imparting quality legal education, B.M.S. College of Law has a strong foundation and infrastructure with a highly qualified and dedicated team of faculty committed to providing a world-class learning experience. Eminent Alumni of the Institution form a strong professional network and work tirelessly to contribute back to the Institution. Apart from imparting legal education through the regular prescribed syllabus, the college is endeavouring to promote legal awareness, particularly about contemporary issues including intellectual property rights, consumer welfare schemes, and women’s rights among the general public through the activities undertaken by various cells and committees including National Moot Court Competition and other academic activities. The college also regularly organises legal awareness programs, public lectures, walkathons, cleanliness drives, charity drives and other community-based extension activities

About the Competition:

It gives us immense pleasure to invite your prestigious institution to the B.M. Sreenivasaiah Memorial 10th Moot Court Competition scheduled from 04 to 06 April 2025 at B.M.S. College of Law, Bengaluru. This year’s competition promises to attract an ambitious and highly talented pool of law students and other members of the Legal Fraternity. This year the Moot Proposition deals with the intersection of Constitutional law and Criminal law. The proposition tests the interpretative and critical thinking skills, research aptitude and observatory skills of the participants.

The B.M. Sreenivasaiah Memorial 10th Moot Court Competition is conducted in collaboration with SCC Online as the exclusive “Knowledge Partner”, and SCC Times as the “Media Partner”. The participants of the event will have the opportunity to interact and network with legal luminaries across the Country and in turn, contribute to the reputation and excellence of your institution. The unique structure of the event provides an opportunity for your students to interact with peers from various Law colleges of high repute.

The Winners of the B. M. Sreenivasaiah Memorial 10th Moot Court Competition will receive a cash price of ₹50,000 along with a Trophy, Certificate, and 3 one-year subscriptions to SCC Online Web Edition worth Rs.72,000. The Runner-up of the B. M. Sreenivasaiah Memorial 10th Moot Court Competition will receive a cash prize of ₹40,000 along with a Trophy and a Certificate. The Best Written Submission Petitioner, Best Written Submission Respondent, Best Orator Male, Best Orator Female, and Best Researcher will each receive a cash prize of ₹10,000, along with a Trophy and a Certificate. Apart from this, all participants will be awarded one month access to the SCC Online Web Edition valued at ₹1099.
