Supreme Court Collegium recommends appointment of Judges for the High Courts of Bombay, Patna and Madras

The Collegium also recommended the extension of term of Justice Manjusha Ajay Deshpande, as Additional Judge of the High Court of Bombay.

In a series of resolution passed by the Supreme Court Collegium headed by Justice Sanjiv Khanna, CJI, on 20-2-2025, made the following recommendations:

Bombay High Court

Appointment of Permanent Judges

(i) Justice Shailesh Pramod Brahme,

(ii) Justice Firdosh Phiroze Pooniwalla

(iii) Justice Jitendra Shantilal Jain

Extension of Term

The Collegium further recommended that Justice Manjusha Ajay Deshpande, Additional Judge, be appointed as Additional Judge of the High Court of Bombay for a fresh term of one year.

Patna High Court

Appointment of Advocates as Judges

(i) Alok Kumar Sinha,

(ii) Ritesh Kumar,

(iii) Soni Shrivastava,

(iv) Sourendra Pandey

(v) Ansul @ Anshul Raj.

Madras High Court

Appointment of Permanent Judges

(i) Justice Ramasamy Sakthivel,

(ii) Justice P. Dhanabal,

(iii) Justice Chinnasamy Kumarappan

(iv) Justice Kandasamy Rajasekar

  • As long as the most dubious and discredited Colligium System is in place only nepotism will be the governing criterion for appointment of judges to High Courts and the Supreme Court crowding the Courts with corrupt and low calibre judges with focus on their own previleges and least love for justice.
