On 28-2-2025, the Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi notified the Non-Cognizable Offences Report Rules, 2025 to ensure proper documentation and judicial oversight for non-cognizable offences. The provisions came into force on 28-2-2025.

Any information which will be received, under Section 174(1) of Bhartiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, by any officer who is in charge of a police station, such information will be converted into Non-Cognizable Offence Information Report (‘NCR’) on Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems (‘CCTNS’) and will be entered in Integrated Investigation Form- XVI.

A printout of recorded NCR will be kept in Register-IA in Police Station records.

The information of the recorded non-cognizable offence will be forwarded to the Magistrate on a fortnightly basis.
